There is just one ingredient inside the Moso Bag- 100% Moso Bamboo Charcoal. We make our bamboo charcoal out of one of the highest quality bamboos in the world- Moso Bamboo. Moso bamboo is a species of giant timber bamboo native to China that grows to 55 feet and up. Like most bamboo, Moso quickly grows into full maturity in just 5 years.

We get ours from a farm in China’s Fujian Province. The process of converting the bamboo into bamboo charcoal begins with cutting down the bamboo (it then grows back). The cut bamboo is dried for a few weeks, and then treated in a kiln at 750°C for two weeks to create the charcoal.

Moso bamboo charcoal has millions of tiny little pores and cavities that work together to act like a big sponge. As air passes by the Moso Bag, the bamboo charcoal has a slight ionic charge that attracts particles.

This charge traps odors, harmful pollutants and moisture particles inside of the pores of the bamboo charcoal. Once the pores have filled up, which takes about a month, it is time to rejuvenate the charcoal in the sun so that the Moso Bag has more space in its pores to absorb pollutants.

Bamboo charcoal has a highly porous structure that provides a large surface area for absorbing unwanted odors, excess moisture and particles from the surrounding air.

Moso bamboo is also a rapidly renewable resource. It reaches maturity much faster than conventional hardwood trees and can regrow after harvesting.

The Moso Bag provides a fragrance-free alternative to conventional air fresheners.

Instead of covering unwanted odors with perfume, bamboo charcoal works by absorbing odors, excess moisture and unwanted particles from the surrounding air.

The exterior of the Moso Bag is designed to allow air to circulate through the bag so that the bamboo charcoal inside can interact with the surrounding air.

Simply remove the Moso Bag from its packaging and place it in the area where you would like it to work.
